What is Homeschooling?

There are many things that homeschooling is not. Over the six and a half years we did it, I heard a lot of what my kids were “missing out on. ”

So here, in many smiling pictures, is what homeschooling IS.

It is countless trips to museums, whether scheduled with a group or just on a whim.

It is trips to the zoos that never get old.

It’s visiting exotic aquariums with tons of other homeschoolers for an awesome, discounted price.

Oh and we can’t forget the butterfly gardens!

Of course, there are trips to many gardens.

Endless hours and story times at the library.

Going to places by train because they are more fun than minivans!

It’s learning about nature hands on.

Taking time to visit monasteries and learn more about our faith.

It’s showing others our talents.

It’s time with friends…

And LOTS of time with family.

It’s taking time off to be with our loved ones during their last, precious days.

It’s getting dressed up to report the weather.

Oh yeah… And sometimes we open our books, sharpen our pencils, and do school work 🙂
